One more succumbs to COVID-19

Imphal, October 15 2020: The COVID-19 death toll in the State rose to 104 following the death of another person while 263 out of 265 civilians with no travel history tested positive during the last 24 hours.

According to a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, a 58-year old man from Imphal West died at Raj Medicity.

In the meantime, 284 people including 19 personnel of CAPF tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, Senapati, Thoubal, Noney, Shija Hospital, Kamjong, Maipakpi Hospital, Churachandpur, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Kakching, RD Wing, Raj Medicity, Jivan Hospital, Babina Diagnostics, CMC, Jiribam, Kangpokpi, Tengnoupal, Advance Hospital, Asian Hospital, Tamenglong and RL.

Of the 265 civilians who have been tested positive, 22 belong to Imphal West, 91 to Imphal East, 15 to Thoubal, three to Kamjong, three to Chandel, two to Tengnoupal, one to Jiribam, nine to Tamenglong, 10 to Kakching, 52 to Churachandpur, 15 to Senapati, 30 to Kangpokpi, eight to Bishnupur and four to Noney.

Except for two belonging to Bishnupur district, the rest 263 have no significant history of travelling outside the State.

On the other hand, 166 people have been discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (41), home isolation (28), RIMS (10), JNIMS (3), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (29), CCC UNACCO (20), Kakching (21), Tamenglong (1), Noney (1), Lanva (3), Sadbhavna (3), Senapati (1), Bishnupur (4) and Kangpokpi (1) .

The cumulative figure of COVID-19 positive cases in the State has reached 14,378 (general population 11,791, Central security personnel 2,587).This figure includes 3193 active cases (general population 2,848, Central security personnel 345) and 11,081 discharged cases (general population 8,843, Central security personnel 2,238).The recovery rate stands at 77.06 per cent.

As many as 536 samples were tested at JNIMS and 149 of them were found positive for COVID-19, said a late report from sources.
