Lilong Chajing decides to enforce 'ILPS' on its own

Imphal, August 07 2014: During a sit in protest held on Thursday at Lilong Chajing near Lilong Bridge in connection with the ongoing demand for ILPS in Manipur, the protesters decided to implement ILPS in Lilong Chajing area whereby non locals would be prohibited in the area.

Members and students of the All Lilong Chijing Clubs' Organisation, Chajing Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Tribeny Public School and Lilong Higher Secondary School took part in the sit in protest.

President of the All Lilong Chajing Clubs' Organisation Arambam Bhumendro denounced police atrocities meted out to agitating students and further demanded befitting actions against those police personnel.

He also requested the pro-ILP leaders to push forward together with the people in order to make the ILP mission accomplished.

In a sit in protest held at Kongpal Chanam Leikai, members of the Nongpok Panthoibi Chaokhat Lup Prameshori Laishram appealed to the elected leaders to wake up and join the mass movement for ILPS.

Similarly, the Thambal-khong Apunba Pupi Lup staged a protest demonstration at Thambalkhong Junior High School, the Khannarok Women Development Association at Khannarok community hall, Chanam Shandrok Meira Paibi at Chanam Shandrok Lairembi Keithel, Kakwa Bazar Apunba Nupi Lup at Kakwa Bazaar, Singjamei Beigyabati Leikai Apunba Meira Paibi Lup at Singjamei Bheigyabati Leikai, Imoinu Nupi Chaokhat Lup at Chingamakha Naorem Leikai Leirak, Apunba Nupi Lup at Naorem Leirak Machin, Puri Puraba Nupi Lup at Puri Puraba Lainingthou Shanglen, womenfolk of Kongpal Mutm Leikai at the local community hall and students of the Modern College at their college gate.

Meanwhile, members of the Ishok Keithel Meira Paibi and also students of the Royal Academy of Law organised sit in protest at Ishok Keithel.

In addition to it, women of the Khongman zone I and II organised sit in protest demanding ILP at the community hall located at Khongman Zone II.

The participants denounced police violence police against agitating students.

A number of protests demanding Inner Line Permit System or a suitable legislation in Manipur were held at various other parts of the State.

While speaking to media, president of the Kangabam Leikai Apunba Nupi Lup Kangbam Borkeinya Devi stated that the members of their organisation would participate relentlessly until and unless the demand for implementation of ILPS or suitable legislation is accomplished.

They also demanded release of the arrested ILP protestors without any condition.

Similar protests was also held at Langol View Clinic Community, Kumbirei Keithel hall under the aegis of Khuyathong Andolon Keithel Meira Paibi.

Advisor of the Khuyathong Andolon Keithel Meira Paibi Ibechaobi Devi decried the alleged irresponsible attitude of the elected leaders with regard to the issue of ILPS.

She further mentioned that the government should not appeal protestors to discontinue the movement since the protestors are not struggling without any purpose or objective.

Staff of Subha Hospital, Mona Clinic, students and staff of Kanan Devi School, local Lai Committee and staff of the Development Committee Youth Section too participated protest agitation.
