Stage set for Bharat Nirman Campaign at Chandel

Imphal, October 28 2013:
Starting from tomorrow, a three-day long Bharat Nirman Public Information campaign on the flagship programmes of the Central Government is set to be kicked off at Koshang Memorial Hall, Khangshim village in Chandel district.
To be sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, New Delhi, the event would be organised by Press Information Bureau (PIB) in collaboration with All India Radio (AIR), Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), Song and Drama Division and Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP) as well as district administration of Chandel, different Government departments.
Addressing a press conference in this regard at Khangshim village today, Media and Communication Officer of PIB Imphal Premlata Loitam informed that Lok Sabha MP Thangso Baite would inaugurate the campaign as Chief Guest.

She said that the main objective of the campaign is to create awareness among the public on the flagship programmes like National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Univeral Mid-Day Meal, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), Rural Drinking Water Supply Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan, Rural Housing (Indira Awaj Yojana), Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS), Aadhar, Land Acquisition Bill and Food Security Bill, etc.
On the first day of the campaign, Land Acquisition Bill, Food Security Bill, Rural Drinking Water Supply, Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan would be covered and discussed by experts from the concerned departments.
On the second day, schemes like NRHM, MGNREGS, Rural Housing, ICDS, Aadhar would be covered while SSA, Mid-Day Meal and Pension Scheme, etc would be discussed on the last day of the campaign.
There would also be interaction with the public after the presentation made by the experts and it would be followed by quiz, Premlata informed.
As part of the campaign, a free-medical camp would also be organised at the same venue and there would also be a Healthy Baby Competition on October 30.Around 17 Government Departments would be putting up their exhibition stalls to showcase their office activities.
In addition, DAVP, Govt of India, Imphal Unit would put up a photo exhibition, she added .
The Media and Communication Officer of PIB Imphal further informed that during the course of the three-day long campaign, artistes of Song and Drama Division, Government of India, Imphal Unit would perform theme-based cultural programmes in the form of song, dance, drama and martial art.
To ensure the success of the campaign, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India has already begun a field programme in different villages of Chandel district since yesterday and it would continue till the end of the campaign.
Field Publicity Officer of PIB Imphal Vivex Khuraijam; Field Publicity Officer of PIB Chandel office George Sangkhil and MCC DAVP Imphal Khatkhanching were also present during the press conference.
