A consultative meeting on 'National Youth Manifesto' organised jointly by Indian Youth Congress and Outer Lok Sabha Youth Congress Committee was held today at Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Hall, Adimjati complex with Parliamentary Secretary for TA/Hills & IT and MPCC general secretary Victor Keishing, MPYCC president Md Amir Hussain and MPCC Youth in-charge P Sashikanta Singh as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively of the inauguration function.
Soliciting youth specific suggestions from cross section of the society for including them in the Congress party's manifesto for the upcoming Parliamentary elections, Victor Keishing reminded that earlier trend of electorates favouring seasoned politicians or senior candidates to represent the people is no more relevant for youth policies have become important issues for most political organisations.
In his brief address to the gathering, Amir Hussain stressing on promotion of agriculture and rural development in the North East also said that economic policy should be synonymous with contemporary needs with equal emphasis on environmental protection and transparency in governance.
