A National painting competition on the theme, "Delighting in Daughters" will be jointly organised by the Centre for Media Studies and the College of Art, New Delhi under the sponsorship of the United Nations Population Fund.
The painting competition open to students of BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) and MFA (Master of Fine Arts) will be participated by 10 students of Imphal Art College.
The competition will be participated by about 450 students from 50 art colleges located in different States of the country.
All entries should be submitted by February 29, said manger of Centre for Media studies Ashwini Sinha while speaking to reporters today at Press Club here.
The national level painting competition on "Delighting in Daughters" is being specifically organised to create an awareness in the society against discrimination of girls, Ashwini said.
The painting competition is against foeticide, infanticide of girls, discrimination, sexual harassment of girls, trafficking, rape, molestation and humiliation of girls.
The results of the painting competition will be declared in April.
The first prize carries Rs 50,000 in cash, second prize Rs 30,000 and third Rs 20,000, added Ashwini.
