Imphal, April 24: Introduced with the main objective of providing health care facilities to the people at an affordable cost, the Shija Wellness Club, a social health care unit of Shija Hospitals and Research Institute has launched its Shija Wellness Cards today.

Managing Director of the premier health institute Dr Kh Palin formally launched the Shija Wellness Cards during a function held at the conference hall of the institute located at Langol.

Interacting with mediapersons at the occasion, Dr Palin said Shija Wellness Club, a health club, is an important organ of the Institute which has been set up with the stated purpose of spreading awareness on various health care facilities and help the people to lead a disease free life.

All the members of the Club would be given the Shija Wellness Cards through which special concession would be given at the time of availing medical treatment from the institute.

Some of the facilities that would be entitled to the holders of the Shija Wellness Cards include 15 percent concession on investigation, bed charge and fees of the doctors and surgeons.

However, it would not be applicable to the charges related to consumables, medicines and Oxygen.

The validity period of the card is for one year but the members can renewed their cards, Dr Palin explained.

Being introduced exclusively for the members of the Shija Wellness Club, the cards would not be applicable to staff and employees of the hospital.

Each of the Club members have to pay Rs 300 for owning a card.

However, additional family members of the card holders would need to pay Rs 250 only to avail the facilities.

There would be restriction on using the cards by another person other than the card holders concerned.

Along with activation of the cards within seven days, the Club members can come to the hospital and avail the facilities being offered, Dr Palin informed, adding that the card holders have to show their cards to the front-office staff of the hospital when they come for treatment at the hospital of the.

Chief Executive Officer of Shija Wellness Club Suresh Thokchom, who was also present during the interaction, apart from specially appointed, the Shija Wellness Cards can be collected by the people from the front office of the institute.

He further disclosed that the institute would also be introducing members' cards for BP check, accidental injuries, etc very soon.
