PTRC, YAL, THAU ease to victories in MNCA Boys' U-14 Tournament

PTRC, YAL and THAU prevailed with relative ease in Friday's league round matches of the 4th MNCA Boys U-14 Tournament 2024-25.PTRC delivered a commanding performance to defeat FORCE by a massive 203-run margin at PTRC Ground, Patsoi Part-IV.
Batting first, PTRC put up an imposing total of 289/2 in their allotted 16 overs.
Priyojit Thongam led the charge with a scintillating 145-run knock, well-supported by Mangal Sagolsem, who contributed a solid 92, and Bedabiyas Pheiroijam with 21 runs.
In response, FORCE struggled to gain momentum and managed only 86/7 in their 16 overs, falling well short of the target.
PTRC's dominant display with both bat and ball ensured a comprehensive victory, further strengthening their position in the competition.
In the other match, YAL produced an all-round performance to dismantle WYC by a massive 194-run margin in a one-sided encounter at Khudeiband Lampak, Taothong (Lamshang).
Batting first, YAL piled up a mammoth 227/1 in just 18 overs, courtesy of a blistering unbeaten 109 from Punsiba Kh, who tore apart the opposition attack.
Yohenba Keisham played a fine supporting role with a solid 64, while Thoiba remained unbeaten on 2.Chasing an improbable target, WYC crumbled under relentless pressure and were skittled out for a mere 33 in 8.1 overs.
The YAL bowlers ran riot, with Keisham Nongpoknganba, Guniridro Thoudam Jr, and Yohenba Keisham grabbing two wickets each, while Huidrom Rajput chipped in with one to seal the emphatic win.
THAU thumped CDCC by 9 wickets at Lairenjam Public Ground.
THAU effectively restricted CDCC to 89/7 in 13 overs.
In response, they comfortably chased down the target in 11.1 overs, losing just one wicket.
Konthoujam Tomthinganba delivered an outstanding performance with an unbeaten 71, while Sagolsem Heiba contributed seven runs before being dismissed.
Meanwhile, SDO triumphed over CCK with a 26-run win.
Batting first, SDO posted a total of 77 before being bowled out in 16.1 overs.
Despite the modest score, their bowling attack delivered an exceptional performance, dismissing CCK for 51 in 13 overs.
Epham Md Suhel led the effort with four wickets, supported by Pukhrimayum Khursid with three and Epham Ajmir with two, securing a well-earned victory for SDO .
