Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament Kabir stars as CHAMP beat ESU by 52 runs

Thomas and Kabir of CHAMP, Khagempalli claimed three wickets each to beat ESU by 52 runs here at Langthabal Public Ground in today's first match of the Heibok T-20 Cricket Tournament organised by Langthabal Sporting Club under the aegis of Manipur Cricket Association.
The second match of the day saw SSU, Singjamei romped to a 7-wicket victory over PTCC, Patsoi at the same ground.
ESU which won the toss and elected to bowl first, had a very disappointing day as they failed to chase the target of 161 runs set by the Khagempalli side.
Kazim emerged best batsman for the winning side as he posted 36 runs off 19 balls.
His team-mate, Bonny also impressed the crowd as he tallied another 36 runs facing a total of 28 balls.
Rajesh (20 not out), Arpit Rao (16) and Sultan (14) also played a huge role in gathering 160 runs for 6 in 20 overs.
The bowling front of ESU could not break the partnership in time and flopped in maintaining economy as well.
Mehul claimed 2 wickets in 4 over while Balajit, Surjit and Shangkar registered one each on the scoresheet.
In reply, ESU went down to just 108 runs for all wickets down in 19.4 overs.
Ronson 26 (37 balls) and Bobby 12 (11 balls) were notable batsmen for the Wangkhei side today.
Thomas and Kabir spearheaded the bowling side of CHAMP and took 3 wickets each.
Kazim also claimed two wickets while Sultan finished with 1 wicket.
Kabir was declared man of the match.
In the second match of the day, Rohit's 4 wicket haul proved a boon for SSU, Singjamei as PTCC which opted to bat first succumbed to just 48 runs all out in 14.4 overs.
Devan also took 3 wickets in 2.4 overs and played a key role in hindering the run rate for the Patsoi side.
Donadoni and Andy who scored 6 runs each facing 9 balls and 14 balls respectively were highest for PTCC.
SSU chased the target easily in 10 overs losing three wickets.
Rahul scored 26 runs off 29 balls and was a big boost for SSU in chasing the target.
Rohit who starred today with 4 wickets was named man of the match.
