In yet another case of Government school teachers pursuing MBBS courses, two primary school teachers (SSA) under the School Education Department have been suspended and departmental processes are underway to cull more of these teachers, according to reports from the Directorate of Education (S) .
The Director of the department had issued separate notifications today on the termination of these two teachers.
FIRs have also been lodged against them and the Zonal Education Officers had been informed to recover the salaries they had withdrawn while holding the positions of teachers.
An official source confirmed that action will also be taken up against the school headmasters who released duty certificates showing the regular attendances of the two teachers.
One of the teachers has been identified as Savanai Lily RL from Koide village, Senapati who was pursuing an MBBS course at the RIMS and the other as P Messengeorge Dangshawa from Chandel, who was working as an intern after completing the course at JNIMS.
Records showed that Savanai Lily was first posted as a primary teacher (SSA) at the Keshephii Lower Primary School and then at the Kanjang Primary School, both in Senapati.
A year after her second posting, she was admitted to the RIMS for an MBBS course on September 10, 2013 .
After completing the MBBS course that started on August 25, 2012, P Messengeorge Dangshawa is presently doing a one-year compulsory internship at the JNIMS.
He had been posted at the Thumtam Lower Primary School, Chandel from the same year of his admission for medical study.
