KCDO, NAPSA, YAC script wins in MNCA Plate Tournament

KCDO, NAPSA, and YAC notched up wins in Tuesday's league matches of the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament 2024-25.KCDO outplayed THAU by 40 runs in their encounter at Lairenjam Public Ground.
Opting to bat first, KCDO posted 184/9 in 35 overs.
Devendro top-scored with 48 runs, followed by Bikram Phamdom (24), Hafiz Imran (21), Ben Lai (20), Md Ajizur Rahman (17), and Hemjit (14) .
In reply, THAU managed to reach only 144/9, despite utilising the full 35 overs.
Yoihen-ba Thoudam Singh (28) and Rajkumar Thapa (26) were the primary contributors to their score.
KCDO's disciplined bowling attack proved key to their victory, with Mani Moirangthem leading the way with a three-wicket haul.
Mani Moirangthem and Hemjit each took two wickets, while Devendro claimed one.
Earlier, Khumukcham Romesh took four wickets for THAU.
In another match at Lairenjam Public Ground, NAPSA edged past IBSA by 9 runs.
NAPSA, opting to bat first, posted a modest total of 130, all out in 33.2 overs.
Bijaykaran Yumnam (28), Bipin Singh Ningthoujam (23), Premananda Ahongshangbam (23), Monjit Loushambam (13), and Richard Singh Kshetrimayum (10) were the notable scorers.
IBSA's James Awang was the standout bowler, taking four wickets, supported by Yengkhom Bhomendro with three and Pravesh with two.
Despite their batting struggles, NAPSA relied on their bowlers to defend the total effectively.
They bowled out IBSA for 121 in 29.2 overs, with Tongbram Dhanakuber taking three wickets, Rocky Yumnam and Bipin Ningthoujam each claiming two, and Albert Sorokhaibam adding one.
Meanwhile, YAC secured a narrow two-run victory over OSCAR at Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur.
Asked to bat, YAC posted 191/9, with contributions from Singhajit Sharma (44 not out), Amit Singh (32), Joychandra Singh Ngangom (19), Huidrom Guneshwor (13 not out), John Singh Oinam (16), and Bhopendra Mangang (11) .
In response, OSCAR fell short at 189 all out in 31.4 overs, despite strong performances from Sorokhaibam Samson (38), Pradeep Thoudam (34), and Pawankumar Wahengbam (31) .
YAC's bowlers, including Singhajit Sharma, Oinam Kiran, Huidrom Guneshwor, and Joychandra Singh Ngangom, who each claimed two wickets, ensured a tight finish, with Indrakumar Wayenbam contributing one wicket.
