REYS, ESU win in 2nd Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T-20 Veteran Cricket Tournament

REYS, Nagamapal and ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound emerged victorious in today's matches of the 2nd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T-20 Veteran Cricket Tournament 2025.In the 6th match of the tournament, REYS notched up a comfortable 79-run victory against Model Club, Chingamakha at Langthabal Public Ground.
After opting to bat first, REYS rode on Ngairangbam Kenny's 55-ball 82 to pile up a huge total of 185/7 and successfully defended the total by restricting Model Club to 106/7.Dhaneshor 32, S Jayenta 18, Dhawan 14 and Th Pyarlal 11 not out also made double digit figures for REYS in the innings that saw Saratchandra (2/21), Thokchom Iboyaima (1/30), Chinglensana (1/38) and Syed Mujibur (1/34) sharing five wickets for Model Club.
In reply, Mujibur topscored with 24 runs followed by H Saratchandra 23 not out and H Santosh 22 not out.
Kenny returned with the best bowling figures of 2/16 for REYS as four others picked a wicket apiece.
Kenny was eventually adjudged man of the match.
Later in the day, ESU added 144 for 8 wickets after electing to bat first and held their nerves to restrict NAPSA to 141 runs for 6 wickets to seal the narrow 3-run victory.
Robin struck a 45-ball 56 while N Helendro 15 and N Banikanta 14 contributed 29 runs to help ESU post 144 in an innings that saw Ratan of NAPSA enjoying a fifer (5/ 24 in 4 overs) and T Gopal claiming two wickets (2/31) .
In the chase, NAPSA had a promising start riding on I Ibobi 25, Ch Somorendro 22, T Bhogendro 29 but ended up 4 runs away from victory despite Yumnam Goutam's unbeaten 27 off 31.S Sanahal (2/31), K Rajesh (1/13), H Premananda (1/28) and A Rakesh (1/23) were among the wickets for ESU.
ESU's leading run getter Robin was eventually adjudged player of the match.
