11th Jadonang Memorial : Namdulong, Chinikon secure wins

Namdunlong beat Pantilong 2-0 today while and Chinikon secured a narrow 1-0 victory in the ongoing 11th Jadonang MemorialFootball tournament staged at Thangmeiband Athletic Union (THAU) ground.
Pougakdai's brace in the first half handed Namdunlong a comfortable 2-0 victory against Pantilong.
Pougakdai struck the opener early in the 4th minute while his second goal came in the 33rd minute.
Despite their lead Namdunlong pressed hard for more goal and in their hectic efforts Keininglung Kamei, Mana Dangmei Thaigampou Golmei were yellow carded.
Pantilong also tried to come back into the game and put more pressure in the forward line but could not bring much result.
Gaingamgong was yellow carded for a rash challenge in the 44th minute of the match.
Both teams could not produce much good runs in the second half and eventually Namdunlong grabbed the game 2-0 with ease.
The second match of the day between Tarung and Sawombung was not an impressive one as neither team failed to open up and the match ended tamely in a goalless draw.
In the evening session, Dimdaijang and Chinikon played out a goalless first half as the defence lines of either team stuck firmly to their places.
Kaganthai Kamei was yellow carded in the 21st minute while trying to bring down Chinikon's forwards who were trying hard to open their account.
After the break, Chinikon raced ahead with a few fine runs and it was Donny Pamei who ended the goal drought in the 52nd minute when he beat the custodian of Dimdaijang to send home the ball.
Chinikon's Angampu Thaimie was also yellow carded for unsporting behaviour in the 60th minute.
In the last match of the day, Keishamthong were held to a 1-1 draw by Ragailong.
Keishamthong recorded the first goal of the match early in the 5th minute when Donny Pamei cracked a powerful shot after outstepping a few defenders.
Stung by the goal Ragailong tried to restore parity with few incisive runs but ended without any result.
Instead, Ragailong's Aguimei Gangmei was yellow carded in the 33rd minute while trying to block a nice attempt from Keishamthong.
Ragailong continued their effort to restore parity and succeeded in the last minute of the first half when Gaikhangningpu fired in a clinical shot past the custodian of Keishamthong.
