3rd NECDC Inter State Friendship Tournament: Manipur go down to hosts Nagaland in semis

Imphal, May 14 2025: Manipur suffered a 4-wicket semi-final loss to hosts Nagaland in the 3rd NECDC Senior Men's Inter State Friendship Tournament 2025 today at Nagaland Cricket Stadium in Dimapur.

Manipur managed a lowly total of 159 runs for 9 wickets in 49 overs in the rain interrupted match before the target was revised to 148 in 42 overs via VJD and other method.

Nagaland then cruised to winning 150 in 38.5 overs with 4 wickets left in hand.

Pheiroijam Jotin produced yet another stellar performance to add highest 72 .off 86 balls after Manipur got off to a shaky start and slumped to 47/ 5 in 23.5 overs.

Pukhrambam Prafullomani 16 off 33 balls, Lamabam Ajay 16 not out off 23 balls, K Priyojit 10 off 44 balls and RK Rex 10 off 7 balls also managed double digit scores for Manipur in an innings that saw Vino G Zhimomi (3/14 in 10 overs) and Akavi A Yeptho (3/30 in 10 overs) sharing 6 wickets for Nagaland.

In reply, Nagaland too faced early jitters and were reduced to 13/3 in 7.2 overs before Yugi 46 off 48 balls, Nchumbemo Humtsoe 35 not out off 64 balls and Tahmeed 29 not out off 34 balls revived the chase and sealed the victory with four wickets and 3.1 overs left to spare.
