2nd Premier League : Isra Khan converts injury time penalty to salvage draw for KIYC against ASUFII FA

Imphal, May 11 2025: Isra Khan scored an injury-time equaliser off a penalty kick to help Kshetri Iril Mapal Youth Club (KTYC), Kshetri Awang Leikai salvage a point against ASUFII FA in a 2nd Premier League Group B match at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.

The two sides, having lost their opening game, started cautiously and cancelled out one another until Samson made the most of a chance to put ASUFII FA ahead one minute away from the halftime whistle.

The two sides were back into business without wasting any time after the break as ASUFII FA looked to add on while KIYC struggled to pull level.

Off a fortuitous circumstance, KIYC came to level term thanks to Yumnam Monis, who subbed in for Laitonjam Sudhir after the break, scoring the equaliser in the 75th minute.

ASUFII however worked relentlessly to retain the lead after the equaliser and managed to go ahead with Mathanmi Ningshen finding the target in the 82nd minute.

With KIYC struggling to break into ASUFII FA defence line in the remainder of the game, the later team looked to seal all three points but KIYC got a golden chance to equalise as they awarded a penalty following a foul by ASUFII FA defender two minutes into the stoppage.

Md Isra Khan stepped up to take the shot and made no mistake in beating the ASUFII FA custodian Gachuiwo S Tara to make it 2-2 .

The two sides had two more minutes to settle the issue but neither team were able to convert and eventually they ended up sharing a point apiece.
