Mema Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket : KCC top Group A with 22 run victory over BSC

Imphal, April 08 2025: KCC, Kongba finished atop Group A table in the 2nd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Devi Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament as they beat BSC, Brahmapur Sangai Chuthek by 22 runs in their final league match this afternoon.

KCC opted to bat first and erected a commendable total of 162 runs for 8 wickets and held BSC to 140/7 in the chase to secure their fourth straight win in the league cum knock-out tournament organised by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.

Bonny 58 off 41, N Devkanta 42 off 33 and Samukcham Robertson 21 off 18 led the scoring for KCC today.

N Robert (2/34 in 4 overs), N Rajibkumar (1/27), A Jayadeva (1/27) and G Rishi (1/27) shared five wickets in this innings for BSC before they ended up gathering 140 despite significant contributions from Irungbam Thoungamba 31, Irungbam Jit 24, A Johnson 22 and kiran 20 .

For KCC, Devan (2/23) and S Robertson (2/27) picked two wickets apiece as K Sanjit claimed one wicket.

Bonny of KCC was adjudged man of the match.

Later in an inconsequential Group B match, UCC, Uripok beat LCC, Lamshang by 6 wickets.

Y Dutta 52 off 45 and Rakesh Sharma 34 off 27 gave LCC a good start to LCC before they faltered and slumped to 131/10 in 17.3 as Jugalkishore (6/31) and Manglem (2/29) ran riot.

UCC then chased down the target in 17.3 overs with 6 wickets left to spare on the back of Ramesh 49 off 40 and Joyshankar 27 off 21 .

Brojen (2/27) and Nandakumar (1/19) were among the wickets for LCC .

Jugalkishore who picked 6 wickets and added 19 runs to the UCC's tally was declared man of the match.

BSC, Brahmapur Sangai Chuthek will play CHAMP, Khagempalli in the next match tomorrow.
