Mema Devi Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket : ESU cruise into quarterfinals with 4 wicket win over BKCC

ESU, Wangkhei cruised into the quarterfinals of the ongoing 2nd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Devi Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket as they beat BKCC, Bamon Kampu for the third win today.
BKCC won the toss and opted to bat first.
But they could amass only 104 runs for 7 wickets despite Md Riyajuddin's 50-ball 44 and ESU posted 108/6 within 16.2 overs thanks to K Swami who anchored with an unbeaten 36 off 37 balls.
Earlier in the first innings, S Sanahal enjoyed a four wicket haul (4/14) for ESU as his teammates Kh Rajesh and Banikanta picked a wicket apiece.

For BKCC, T Lenin (2/19) and Riyajuddin (2/22) picked two wickets apiece as Kh John claimed one.
S Sanahal who picked four wickets and contributed 17 runs in the chase was deservingly adjudged man of the match.
Later in the day, CYCLONE, Thangmeiband ended their Group C campaign with a huge 9-wicket win over Model Club, Chingamakha.
It was the second win for CYCLONE in four matches while it was the fourth straight loss for Model .
Notably, REYS (8 points) and YPHU (6 points) have qualified for the quarterfinals from Group C as group winners and runners up.
Model Club managed to post 183/5 in 20 overs thanks to Syed Mujibur Rahman's 48-ball 74 and major contributions from H Santosh 24 off 18 and S Priyobanta's 28 not out off 12 balls.
CYCLONE however eased to the winning 188 within 18.1 overs with 9 wickets left to spare as Usham Robinson teed off 112 off 52 balls and forged a huge unbeaten 142-run second wicket partnership with Sachikumar 45 off 36 to seal the victory after losing N Roben on 21.Arun of CYCLONE returned with the best bowling figures of 3/28 as Ksh Lalmohan picked one while Meikam Chaoba picked the only wicket in the CYCLONE's innings.
Usham Robinson who shone with an unbeaten 112 eventually walked away with the man of the match accolade.
