2nd Premier League 2025-26 : S Sagar hits hattrick in FC Raengdai's third straight win; DMRAO overcome KIYC 5-3, WAFA thump AFC 2-0

Imphal, May 14 2025: FC Raengdai stretched their winning streak to three games in the 2nd Premier League 2025-26 Group A as they blanked Athletic Brother's Association courtesy of a treble from Shoraisham Sagar.

Sagar put the Noney outfit ahead after 37 minutes this morning at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong before completing his hattrick in the second half with back to back goals in the 68th and the 70th minute.

The Kshetrigao team, having posted a win and a draw in the previous outings, toiled hard to reduce the margin but FC Raengdai held on to their lead till effectively till the final whistle to seal their third straight cleansheet this season.

In another Group A match staged later in the afternoon, WAFA rode on Chirom Srinivash's brace (39', 81') to beat Angtha FC 2-0.In a Group B match staged this afternoon in between the Group A matches, Dimapur Road Athletic Organisation (DMRAO) rode on a second half brace from Keithelakpam Ibotomba to seal a 5-3 win against Kshetri Iril Mapal Youth Club (KIYC).

Both the sides started cautious and entered into the break with the score levelled at 1-1 as Maharabam Karan cancelled the lead for DMRAO in the 24th minute after KIYC went ahead through Somishon Shirak in the 20th minute.

After the restart.

KIYC regained the lead through Afridi Buyamayum, who subbed in for Somishon Shirak, in the 56th minute but DMRAO did not lose hope and drew level through captain Ningthoujam Naresh in the 59th minute before Keithelakpam Ibotomba scored a quick brace within a span of five minutes (67', 72') to put the Sekmai side in the driver's seat.

DMRAO further extended the lead to 5-2 with Ngangbam Telheiba finding the target in the 80th minute before Khoirom Hitler pulled one goal back for KIYC one minute into the injury-time.

With the result, DMRAO extended their unbeaten run in three games having played out draws in the two previous games.

Meanwhile it was the second loss for KIYC in three games.
