Imphal, April 07 2025: Mayailambi FC rode on W Ajit to crush Ex-SSB FC 5-0 and finished Group C league winners in the quarterfinals in the 23rd Challenge Cup on 7 points.

Having played a 1-1 draw with VSAI, Thangmeiband and sealed a 9-0 win against AMBA FC in the previous match, Mayailambi FC were relentless and sealed the 5-0 winners and topped the group above VSAI who also finished their league campaign unbeaten on same 7 points but with inferior goal difference.

W Ajit opened the scoring in the 11th minute before adding another the next minute to make it 2-0.H Noren joined the party and made it 3-0 after 22 minutes before Ajit scored two more goals back to back in the 34th and the 41st minutes to complete the 5-0 rout of Ex-SSB FC .

In a Group B match staged later in the day, EMV FC, Lamlai edged past Rainbow FC, Khamnam Leirak by 2-1 goals to keep their quarterfinal hopes alive.

S Devanta (18') and Y Dhanashyam (24') scored for EMV FC in this keenly contested match before Tomcha pulled back a goal in the 30th minute.
