YWC to clash with CHAMP for 7th MVCA T20 Cricket title

YWC, Langthabal will lock horns CHAMP, Khagempalli on March 20 in the final of the 7th MVCA T20 Cricket Tournament being organised by Manipur Veteran Cricket Association at Langthabal Public Ground.
CHAMP sealed the final spot beating NAPSA, Kha Imphal by 11 runs today in the first semi-final match while YWC managed a 35 run win against LCCC, Chajing to complete the final line up.
In the first semi-final match, CHAMP posted 135 runs for 7 in 20 overs as Jodiba hit a half century (52 off 46 balls) and Ibobi knocked 41 runs off 43 balls.
Ratan also contributed 26 runs off 14 balls for CHAMP in this innings which saw Bhogendro of NAPSA claimed two wickets.
Simon and Goutam of NAPSA also registered one wicket.
Somendro struck a nifty 44-ball 55 runs in the chase but his effort went in vain as they managed only 124 runs for 7 in their quota of 20 overs.
Bhogendro also added 19 runs in this innings while Ratan was not out on 18.Bablu of CHAMP picked up two wickets in this innings while Indraban and Ratan claimed one wicket apiece.
Jodiba was eventually named man of the match.
Meanwhile in the last semi-final, Samanda produced a fine batting performance securing 86 runs off 44 balls to help YWC post 152 runs for 6 after electing to bat first.
Manaobi and Gojendro also found their names on the scoresheet for contributing 28 and 19 runs.
Eqbal and Sanjit of LCCC was able to dismiss two wickets each in this innings while Gilangamba and Pratap had one wicket apiece.
LCCC however ended up their innings at 117 runs all out with 7 balls left to play as YWC bowlers wreacked havoc across the batting line up.
Krishnakumar was the highest run gatherer with 26 runs while Rakesh and Eqbal struck 18 runs each.
Kumarjit was the picked of the YWC bowler as he enjoyed a 4 wicket haul while Priyokumar did well to scalp three before Shashi claimed two wickets to set up the huge win.
Samanda of YWC was latter named man of the match.
