Tengnoupal, March 19 2019:
The State has celebrated International Women's Day recently, but in-spite of the many Ministerial visits, the 50 bedded hospital in Moreh still lacks Gynaecologist leaving the pregnant women in the Moreh town helpless and unattended.
The pregnant women have to visit private clinics in other places/districts for routine checkup and delivery cases.
The lone gynaecologist stationed at the hospital was transferred in early January this year leaving the post vacant to this day.
"Ministers and MLAs visited the hospital many times, but only assurances were given without any visible and concrete work on ground," said a source familiar with the development in the hospital.
Moreh hospital has operation theatre but lacks necessary equipment and specialist, said the source adding that so far the number of operations conducted in the hospital has not reached 5 .
"In 2018 December the Minister concerned had brought Ultrasound, X-ray and other equipment and opened a PPP Model Laboratory in the hospital.
But due to lack of doctors and specialists has rendered the equipment useless," he said.
