Kangpokpi, March 19 2019:
Months after the mysterious killings of domestic animals, a number of domestic ducks were killed last night by wild dog like animals reportedly at Kangpokpi District Headquarters.
The incident happened few metres away from the residence of Kangpokpi Town Committee Chairman Lunseh Kipgen at around midnight.
A non local tenant heard the ducks quacking loudly at midnight and informed the KTC Chairman, the owner of the ducks, who immediately rushed to the spot where the ducks were reared with torchlight and saw two animals attacking the ducks.
According to the KTC Chairman, the two animals attacking the ducks were brownish in colour and possess wild dog shape.
He however ruled out the possibility of the animals being dogs, as the animals jumped high concrete retaining wall and even break hard fencing made of woven bamboo.
The mysterious animal killed five of the seven ducks and severely injured the other two.
It may be recalled that last year string of mysterious killings were reported in the State causing havoc.
Meanwhile, the news has spread in the town and people fear if the mysterious predators are back again.
Authorities concerned should take up necessary measures to avoid further attack on livestock in the town, said locals.
