AMOFA, FC Moirang victorious in Moirang Super Divn League

Imphal, October 15 2019: AMOFA, Moirang and FC Moirang earned victories against respectively rivals in yesterday's matches of the ongoing 1st K Babu Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament organised by District Football Association, Moirang at Multipurpose Ground Moirang.

In the third match of the tournament, FC Moirang beat KRFC, Komrem by 3-1 goals.

FC Moirang made the most of the possession and goals by Ch Sivajit in the 9th minute and Rajkumar in the 34th minute helped them enjoy a 2-1 lead till the break.

M Chungmerang made the lone strike for the Komrem side in the 22nd minute after Ch Sivajit opened up the account for FC Moirang.

The two teams lost their tempo in the second half however it was Emanuel who added to FC Moirang tally in the 64th minute and wrapped up the game 3-1 .

Meanwhile in the 4th match of the tournament AMOFA fought back from two goals deficit to thrash AKSA, Kwakta 5-2 as H Sailesh led the comeback charge up at the front for their second win at the tournament.

AKSA dominated the earlier proceedings and led 2-0 thanks to Md Nawas (6') and Md Saroj (15') and they looked happy with the lead as they were unaware of what would happen in the remainder of the game.

It took 22 minutes for H Sailesh to open up the account for the Moirang team which made the competition wide open scoring the equaliser in the 33rd minute with H Sailesh taking the strike again.

Back to back goals left the Kwakta side in lurch and were unable to reply as Sailesh was constant threat to their goalline.

Sailesh then completed his treble and the turnaround in the 47th minute with ease.

As AKSA hardly resist, K Newton continued the scoring spree scoring the teams' fourth in the 65th minute before H Sailesh rounded off the scoring in the 72nd minute and made it 5-2 in AMOFA's favour at the end.

FC Moirang will meet AMOFA in the 5th match on October 17 .
