Guigailong YC wins 1st Sr Div Super League Cum I- Day Trophy 2014

Tamenglong, August 14 2014 : Guigailong Youth Club beat West Chiulon Youth Club by 2-1 goals to lift the 1st Senior Division Super League Cum Independence Day Trophy 2014 organised by District Sports Association (DSA), Tamenglong on Thursday at Mini Stadium Tamenglong here.

The closing ceremony of the tournament was graced by C Arthur W, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong as chief guest and RK.

Ragaisin, Chief Executive Officer of Tamenglong Autonomous District Council as guest of honour.

The final match of the 1st Senior Division Super League Cum Independence Day Trophy 2014 which was supposed to play on 15 August was conducted today as the United Naga Council (UNC) has given the call for staying away from the Independence Day celebration.

In the final match today, West Chiulon Youth Club scored one goal against Guigailong Youth Club in the first half.

In the second half, Guigailong Youth Club equalised the score tally and the match ended in a draw in the normal time.

In the penalty shootout, Guigailong Youth Club emerged the champion by 2-1 goals ahead of the West Chiulon Youth Club and lifted the trophy.

The prizes of the tournament would be presented tomorrow on the occasion of celebrating the Independence day.

In the meantime, a friendly football match will be played between DC 11 and Medical department at the Mini Stadium Tamenglong tomorrow.
