ILP stir persists; 24 migrant workers with forged documents pulled up

Joining hands in the ongoing public demand for implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State, Iramsiphai Nupi Lup; Yaipha Thourang Lup; Navy Club and Scientific English School jointly staged a massive sit-in demonstration at Iramsiphai Mayai Leikai Community Hall today.
A protest rally was also taken out in and around Iramsiphai Mayai Leikai during which protesters demanded enforcement of ILP system without any further delay.
On the other hand, under the aegis of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) Students' Wing, another massive sit-in-protest was staged jointly by women's organizations of Kakching; women folks of Kakching Bazar; Kakching Bazar Business Welfare Association; JNGVO, Kakching; senior citizens; social workers including several non-Manipuris at Naohallai Ground, Kakching Bazar.
During the protest, slogans such as 'Lets unite together to save indigenous people', 'Implement ILP system in the State', 'Monitor entry of non-locals' etc were chanted by the protesters.
Similar protests were also witnessed in different parts of Thoubal district including Thoubal Haokha Mamang Leikai and Khangabok Market Complex which were organized by Thoubal Haokha Meira Paibi Lup and Khangabok Meira Paibi Lup respectively.
Sit-in-protests to press for implementation of ILP were also staged at Keishamthong Irom Pukhri Mapan Social Club Ground; Wangoi Leiphrakpam Community Hall; Nambol Khathong Community Hall; Lamlong Higher Secondary School; Top Moirangkampu Thongkhong; Nongpok Sanjenbam Community Hall; Nongdren Mayai Leikai Community Hall; Nongdam Bazar; Ningthemcha Khul, Waiton Keithel Shang; Haraorou Sanbei Community Hall and Wangkhei Thangapat Mapal Community Hall.
Meanwhile, volunteers of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) Students' Wing reportedly pulled up 24 non-locals who were found possessing forged identification documents from near DM College Gate, Thangmeiband this early morning around 3.30 .
The non-locals who are residents of Malda and Utarbinajpur district, West Bengal were coning in a bus bearing registration no AS01-9777.However, the bus managed to flee the place.
It is said that they were sent by one Vinod Kumar Gupta, who is said to be the supervisor of Capital Company based in Kolkata for working in Yurembam Power Sub-Station.
All the 24 non-locals were paraded at the head office of AMSU inside the DM College campus before media persons.
Reports said a team of Imphal Police Station led by its OC has taken away the non-locals while the committee was trying to make them return back to their native home places and later handed over them over to the custody of officials of Yurembam Power Sub-Station.
