State Polo Tournament X Polo Club emerge men's champions

Imphal, January 15 2018:
Tentha Polo Club today defeated Samadon Ayangba-A 6-3 to emerge winners of the 1st Junior Boys' (U-16) State Level Polo Tournament while X Polo Club beat MPSC-B 4-3 to win the 34th Men's State Level Polo Tournament organised by All Manipur Polo Association at Mapal Kangjeibung.
Th Manisana of Samadon Ayangba struck two goals in the first chukker to give his team a 2-1 lead with another goal scored by M Kuber of Tentha Polo Club.
Tentha Polo Club took charge in the second chukker and reversed the lead through two goals scored by S Naoba Singh.

Th Manisana added another goal in the third chukker but could not stop the Tentha side as M Kuber struck another goal in the same chukker to hand his team a 4-3 lead.
S Naoba and T Bishorjit Singh scored one goal each in the fourth chukker and finished the game 6-3 to emerge winners of the U-16 category.
In the men's final match, X Polo Club and MPSC went neck to neck until L Atangba of X Polo Club struck a late goal to finish the game 4-3 .
X Polo Club enjoyed a 2-1 lead in the first chukker through goals coming from the sticks of P Ojit and L Atangba.
The single goal of MPSC-B was scored by H Abung Khuman.
M Jawan struck the second goal of MPSC-B and was able to level the score at 2-2 in the third chukker.
M Jawan then took control of the game in the beginning of the last chukker and gave his team a 3-2 lead until Th Jacob found the equaliser in a span two minutes.
The later part of the last chukker saw L Atangba trying his best to take the lead and his determination and hard work paid him with the winner in the 7:20th minute.
The valedictory function of this tournament (34th Men's, 13th Women and Junior Boys' State Level Polo Tournament) was attended by Heikham Dingo, MLA, Sekmai AC and Dr Konsam Saratchandra Singh as dignitaries who also gave prizes to the winners.
The winners of the 1st Junior Boys' State Polo Tournament, Tentha Polo Club walked away with Rs 10,000 along with title trophy while the runners up team, Samadon Ayangba -A were awarded Rs 5,000 and a trophy.
Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club which won the women's title were honoured with Rs 15,000 and a trophy while K&MM Riding School who finished as runners up were handed Rs 10,000 with a trophy.
The champions of the men's category, X Polo Club were awarded Rs 30,000 along with the title trophy while runners up team, MPSC-B were handed Rs 20,000 .
