Imphal, January 15 2018:
International Wushu player Dr Oinam Sanayaima has alleged that the State Government has given little attention to the game of Wushu even though it is one discipline where Manipur wins maximum medals in National championships.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here today, Dr Sanayaima said that Manipur won maximum medals in successive National Games.
Rather than concentrating maximum efforts so that Manipur continues to dominate the game of Wushu in the Goa National Games, Wushu and the Youth Affairs and Sports Department are caught in a tussle, he said.
Such imbroglios have seriously affected the performance of State players and other States no longer look at Manipur with the same level of high regard as they did earlier.
Sanayaima was earlier working as Wushu coach in Sikkim when the previous Government of Manipur offered him a post of coach at the Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
Even a DPC was held for his appointment but the tenure of the Government expired before the appointment process could be completed.
He said that he would take part in Jeet Kundo World Championship which would be held at Bangkok from March 12 to 22."I'm confident that I would win gold medal in the championship", he said.
