Football Lovers lift Samaram Trophy title

Thoubal, May 11 2025: Football Lovers (Nongpok Sekmai) beat Football Lovers Manipur by a 2-1 margin in the final of the 3rd State Level Open Football Tournament - Samaram Trophy 20225, held at Samaram playground on Sunday.

Sudhir (25') and Rohit (40') scored in the Nongpok Sekmai side's title triumph.

The champions took home a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 while the runners-up received Rs 70,000 .

Among the individual prize winners were Football Lovers Manipur's Yaiphaba (best goalkeeper), Sangaiyumfam FC's Md Ezaj (top scorer), and Football Lovers Nongpok Sekmai's Rohit (best player).

Meanwhile, the best deciplined team award went to Legend FC Manipur Police.

The closing ceremony of the tournament was attended by MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Khundrakpam AC MLA Thokchom Lokesh-wor, Khangabok AC MLA Surjakumar Okram, and renowned singer Hamom Sadananda as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
