THAU and FORCE claimed emphatic victories in Tuesday's matches of the 1st MNCA Women's U-23 One Day Trophy 2024-25.THAU inflicted a crushing 173-run defeat on YPHUC at SEDOC Ground, Kongba Dhobi Lampak.
Opting to bat, THAU posted a commanding total of 233/7 in their allotted 35 overs.
Captain Robeni Usham anchored the innings with a composed 68 off 88 deliveries, featuring five boundaries.
Contributions from Tongbram Nilky Devi (26) and Moirangthem Yajphabi Devi (19) further bolstered the score, while extras (60 wides, 9 no-balls) proved costly for YPHUC.
In response, YPHUC's batting lineup faltered against a disciplined THAU bowling attack.
Hijam Malemkhombi was the standout performer, claiming remarkable figures of 4/5 in her seven overs, including three maidens.
Sophiya Chanu Naorobam (2/11) provided crucial support as YPHUC were restricted to a meagre 60/8, sealing a comprehensive 173-run victory for THAU.
In the other fixture at THAU Ground, FORCE delivered a clinical performance to dismantle PCC by nine wickets.
PCC's innings never gained momentum as they were bundled out for just 67 in 17.5 overs.
FORCE's bowlers shared the spoils, with Barkatun Kha-nam (3/19) and Farjiya (2/4) leading the charge.
Chasing a modest target, FORCE made light work of the total, reaching 70/1 in a mere 6.5 overs.
Barkatun Khanam continued her all-round brilliance, hammering an unbeaten 33 off just 16 balls, including five fours and two sixes.
