DMRAO, FCR, WFA secure decisive victories in 2nd Premier League

Imphal, May 14 2025: DMRAO, FC Raengdai and WFA registered decisive victories in the 2nd Premier League at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong, on Wednesday.

In a thrilling Group B encounter, DMRAO staged a spirited comeback from a goal down to claim a 5-3 victory against KIYC.

KIYC got off to a strong start when Somishon Shirak opened the scoring in the 20th minute.

However, DMRAO's Maharabam Karan Singh swiftly equalised in the 24th minute, ensuring the sides went into half-time level at 1-1 .

After the break, Afridi Buyamayum restored KIYC's lead in the 56th minute, but DMRAO responded almost immediately, with Ningthoujam Naresh drawing his side level again just three minutes later.

The momentum then shifted decisively in DMRAO's favour as Keithelakpam Ibotomba struck twice in quick succession (67', 72') to put his team ahead.

Ngangbam Telheiba then sealed the win with an 80th-minute goal, leaving KIYC with too much to do.

Despite a late consolation from Khoirom Hitler in stoppage time, KIYC fell short as DMRAO pulled off a hard-fought victory.

Meanwhile, FC Raengdai comfortably dispatched ABA 3-0 in a one-sided Group A clash.

Shoraisham Sagar emerged as the star of the match, netting a superb hat-trick with goals in the 37th, 68th, and 70th minutes to ensure a dominant win for his side.

In another Group A fixture, WFA secured a 2-0 victory over Angtha FC, courtesy of a brace from Chirom Shinivash.

The forward broke the deadlock in the 39th minute before adding a second in the 81st to wrap up a convincing performance.
