MNCA Plate tourney: IBSA, YAC triumph

Imphal, December 23 2024: IBSA, Yumnam Leikai and YAC, Yaiskul cruised past their respective opponents in Monday's league matches of the 9th MNCA Plate Tournament 2024-25 .

In a match at Lairenjam Public Ground, Nelson Keithellakpam (60 runs) guided IBSA to an eight wicket victory over SU, Sagolband.

IBSA bowlers led Mk Tamim (three wickets), Azmad Kh and Yengkhom Bhomendro Singh (two each) restricted SU to 172/9 in 35 overs with Loitongbam Naoton (46 runs) and Nongmeikapam Komol Singh (42 runs) showing some resistance for SU .

IBSA batters then completed the chase in 29.4 overs for the loss of two wickets.

Meanwhile, YAC beat YPHUC, Lalambung by four wickets at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-Ill Cherapur.

Opting to bat, YPHUC batters posted 155/9 in 33 overs with Birbal Irom (45 runs) being the major contributor.

For YAC, two wickets apiece were scalped by Abocha, Singhajit Sharma and Indrakumar Wayenbam along with one wicket each for Huidrom Guneshwor, Oinam Kiran and captain Joychandra Singh Ngangom.

During the chase, YPHUC bowlers Birbal Irom and Bishworaj Sharma took wickets each to rattle the batters of YAC, but Abocha Laishram (59) prevented a batting collapse to ensure victory in 2.5.4 overs.
