U-23 cricket: RCA, YUCC, KASC script wins

Imphal, April 07 2025: RCA, Lilong; YUCC, Kwakeithel; and KASC, Khomidok defeated their respective opponents in league matches of the 2nd MNCA Men's U-23 Haobam Biramangol Singh Memorial Trophy 2024-25 on Monday.

In a match at Taothong Khudeiband Lampak, RCA crushed PTCC, Patsoi by 120 runs after posting 239 in 39 overs riding on brilliant knocks by openers Zuned (61 runs) and Md Alfash (48 runs) .

For PTCC, Langamba Ningombam claimed four RCA wickets.

RCA bowlers led by Naesh Hussain and Iliyas, who took four wickets each, then bundled out PTCC for 119 in 30.5 overs to cruise to victory.

In another match, captain Ningthoujam Sanjit Singh claimed five wickets and scored 23 runs to guide YUCC to a seven-wicket victory over AMCA, Thoubal at Moijing Public Ground, Thoubal.

Two wickets by Prithibiraj Laishram and one each by Devraj Nongthombam and Kadamjit Moirangthem bundled out AMCA for 81 in 23 overs.

Ningthoujam Rohit Singh (36 not out) and N Sanjit then completed the run chase in only six overs.

Meanwhile, Bm Irfan scored 150 runs and took two wickets as KASC defeated KSDO, Kiyamgei by 95 runs at Public Ground, Khangabok Part-III Cherapur.

Batting first, KASC posted 277/6 in 30 overs, with Irfan and Md Sharif Khan (60 runs) being the main contributors and defying fiery spell by KSDO skipper Md Shah Jahan, who accounted for four KASC wickets.

Irfan, Bm Afsar and Md Ruhal (two wickets each) restricted KSDO to 182/8 in 30 overs to emerge victorious.
