State athletes selected for 13th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2025

Imphal, May 06 2025: The Pencak Silat Association of Manipur has announced athletes selected to represent the state at the 13th National Senior Pencak Silat Championship, scheduled to be held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh from May 9 to 122025.The selected contingent includes a balanced mix of male and female competitors across various weight classes and disciplines.

In the Tanding (sparring) events, the male participants are Yendrembam Geet Meetei (45-50 kg), Yaikhom Rohit Meitei (50-55 kg), Keidongbam Teijheiba Meitei (55-60 kg), Pukhriambam Victor Meitei (60-65 kg), Soibam Pari Singh (65-70 kg), Kshetrimayum Jackson Singh (70-75 kg), Wangkheimayum Abonanda Singh (75-80 kg), Soijam Premkumar Singh (80-85 kg), and Khumbongmayum Ton Singh (85-90 kg).

The female athletes selected for Tanding include Dolly Leishangthem (Under-18 category), Shapam Diana Devi (45-50 kg), Naorem Lanchenbi Devi (50-55 kg), Hijam Merina Devi (55-60 kg), Sanasam Sophia Chanu (60-65 kg), and Ahongshangbam Sarjubala (65-70 kg) .

In the Seni (artistic) category, Wahemgbam Sudhir Meetei and Premchandra Yengkhom will compete in the male Ganda (double) event.

Premchandra Yengkhom will also take part in the Solo Creative male event, while Moraghthem Sanatomba Singh will represent the state in the male Tunggal (solo) performance.

On the women's side, Thingbaijam Dayalaxmi Chanu and Tokchom Bemao Chanu will compete in the Ganda female event, with Tokchom Bemao Chanu also participating in the Solo Creative female category.

Dolly Leishangthem is also listed for the female Tunggal event.

Furthermore, Thounaojam Rita Chanu, Sanasam Sophia Chanu, and Hijam Merina Devi will form the team representing Manipur in the Regu (female team) event.

The team will be led by manager Ch Joykumar Singh and coach Ng Nanao (Nawang) .
