Senapati, January 31 2025: The Lt Col (Late) Robert TA Open Football Tournament is set to commence on February 4, 2025, at Senapati Astro Turf Ground.

This prestigious tournament will witness 18 teams competing in a league-cum-knockout format, bringing together some of the finest footballing talents in the region.

The event is being organised by the 16 AR/22 SECT/IGAR (E) in association with Senapati District Olympic Association, Manipur (SDOAM).

Organised in memory of Lt Col (Late) Robert TA, the tournament aims to promote sportsmanship, discipline, and excellence in football.

Teams from across the region will participate, displaying their skills, teamwork, and passion for the sport.

The participating teams are Makhrelui FC, United Brothers, Sadar Hills FC, Gorkha FA, Hills United FC, Essi United, Football 4 Change, Lzivions FC, Zalengam FC, Sagarmatha Gorkha FC, Sakol FC, Sadar Hills FA, Zeliangrong FC, Senapati FC, Laizon FC, Asufii FA (Under-17), United Kirat FC and Hills Academy FA.

The 18 teams will be divided into groups and compete in a round-robin format.

The top teams from each group will qualify for the knockout stage, leading to the semifinals and finals.

The tournament will run from February 4, 2025, culminating in a grand finale and prize distribution ceremony.

The tournament offers cash prizes as follows: Quarterfinalists will receive Rs 15,000 each, semifinalists will be awarded Rs 30,000 each, the runners-up will receive Rs 1.5 lakhs, and the winners will be rewarded with Rs 3 lakhs.
