124 Bn win CRPF sports meet

Imphal, February 28: With a competition tally of 122 points 124th Bn CRPF, Lamphel claimed the team championship title of the Inter Battalion (Ops) Sports Meet 2008 which concluded at the mantripukhri headquarters of 167 Bn today.

The 167 Bn, Mantripukhri secured the runners-up position on 43 points while the Mongshangei based 128 Bn settled for the third place with a competition total of 41 points.

The sports competition hosted by the 167 Bn since February 23 was participated by sportspersons of 11 CRPF units from Manipur and nagaland.

Competitions were held at the Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium in the sports discipline of wrestling, weightlifting, gymnastics and judo.

The closing ceremony and prize distribution programme was held with Assistant Commandant of the host battalion Mayank Tiwari at Mantripukhri.
