4th MNCA Superplate Tournament : Md Danish's ton powers RCA to fifth straight victory

Imphal, December 23 2024: Md Danish starred with a 90-ball 101 before he retired hurt as RCA, Lilong crushed UCC, Kangchup Road by 174 runs for the fifth straight Group A win in the 4th MNCA Superplate Tournament.

Opting to bat first at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College playground, RCA amassed a huge total of 262 runs for 3 wickets in 35 overs thanks to Danish, Md Alfash 76 off 91 balls, Syed Hussain 32 and Zamir Khan 21 before bowling out UCC for 88 runs in 19.1 overs on the back of Zamir Khan 3/17, Aziz Mirza 3/26 and Naesh Hussain 2/6 who gave UCC batters a torrid time with their clinical bowling efforts.

For UCC, Thangjam Anson 28, K Gulson 12 and L Roshan 10 were the only double digit run getters in the chase after Th Yoihenba (2/68) and S Jackson (1/33) shared three RCA wickets.

Md Danish was eventually adjudged player of the match.

Meanwhile in a Group B match staged at Moijing Public Ground, AKSDO overwhelmed KASC, Khomidok by 129 runs after they won the toss and posted a commanding total of 210 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 35 overs.

Bishorjit Mangang 73 off 101 balls and Chinglensana 60 off 53 balls led the scoring for AKSDO in the innings that saw Bm Safar 2/30 and Md Rahis khan 2/44 sharing four wickets.

In reply, KASC slumped to 81 all out within 22.1 overs as Saikhom Kaiku (3/10), Saikhom Lanchenba (3/25) and Akash Laishram (2/10) wreaked havoc with their impeccable bowling performances for AKSDO.

Bishorjit who topscored for AKSDO was adjudged player of the match.
