2nd Sangai Cup Judo Tournament : Manipur seal sub-junior team champions as IIS win cadet and junior crowns

Imphal, March 19 2025: Manipur managed the sub-junior title as Inspire Institute of Sports (IIS, based in Karnataka) sealed the cadet and junior crowns in the 2nd Sangai Cup Judo Tournament which was held from March 16 to 18 at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.

The tournament sponsored by IIS saw participation of Judokas from 6 units including Manipur, IIS, Delhi, Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

Manipur won as many as 18 medals including 14 gold and 4 silver to top the subjunior category tournament as IIS managed 3 gold and 1 silver to finish runners up.

Meghalaya sealed 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals to finish second runners up in the tournament.

Meanwhile, IIS bagged 7 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medal to top the cadet's tally as Manipur finished runners up with 6 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Delhi finished second runners up in the same category with 1 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medal.

In the junior category tournament, IIS clinched as many as 7 gold and 2 silver medals to earn the top honour as Manipur bagged 3 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Assam were third in the tally of the tournament with as many as 2 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals.
