Imphal, March 11 2022: Muvanlai (MAF), New Lambulane earned full points for the first time in the ongoing 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament Group A league stage by beating PSC, Khuyathong today at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground.

Muvanlai stacked up 204 for 10 in 38.1 overs after electing to bat first and restricted PSC to 166 for 9 in the chase for the first win in Group A competition after losing to YWC and KCC in the previous matches.

Glientinthang Kipgen blazed off a 56-ball 59 off six fours and two sixes in MAF's innings before PSC bowlers Yengkhom Bhomendro wreaked havoc to inhibit them from making a big total.

Siehboi Vaiphei (14), Khaikhotinlal Haokip (18), Gouminlun Kipgen (12), Avinash Asmali (18) and L Thangsuanlian (not out 21) also contributed to MAF's tally.

Bhomendro emerged the pick of PSC bowlers finishing the best bowling figures of 4/17 in 8 overs which contained a maiden over while Lamabam Martin (2/53) and Ningthoujam Ranjan (2/24) bagged two wickets apiece.

Laimayum Prasantajit and Tonjam Nikhil also earned a wicket apiece.

In the PSC chase, MAF bowlers kept things tight and saw out the game with the scoreboard reading 166 for 9 despite Ningthoujam Ranjan (41) and Laishram Devwart Singh (33) making all efforts to anchor the innings.

Gouminlun Kipgen (3/34 in 8 overs) and Avinash Asmali (3/31 in 8 overs) exerted a strong pressure on PSC batters taking three crucial wickets while Siehboi Vaiphei and Khaikhotinlal Haokip bagged a wicket each.

Gouminlun Kipgen was eventually named man of the match.

RULE notch up 5 wicket win over RCA Elsewhere at Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, RULE-Malom bowled RCA out for a paltry 81 total in 32.4 overs and chased down the target easily in just 18 overs with 5 wickets left in hand for two of two wins.

RCA-Lilong who won against YUCC in their Group B opener won the toss and elected to bat.

But things went horribly wrong after the openers, Wm Rajak (17) and Imran Khan (32) departed.

Right arm fast bowler Thokchom Kishan Singh removed Aziz Mirza on 3 to seal the innings and en route to his 2 wicket haul giving 15 runs in 7.4 overs.

Nongthombam Sarojkumar (2/10 in 6 overs) and Jay Singh Haorokcham (2/17 in 6 overs) also picked up two wickets each as Nongthombam Denin, Sanjenbam Ananda Singh and Ayekpam Rakesh managed a wicket apiece.

RULE chase was not easy as Mutum Sudhir (4) and Jay Singh Haorokcham (0) departed cheaply within 4 overs but managed to post a winning 82 for 5 thanks to Sanjenbam Suresh (12), Ayekpam Rakesh (25) and Chabungbam Ishorjit (22) .

Bm Sabakhan of RCA shone with a four wicket haul for 27 runs in 8 overs but his efforts went in vain as the target they set was too low.

Ayekpam Rakesh who picked a wicket and added 25 runs in RULE's tally was adjudged man of the match.

YWC ease to third straight victory in Group A competition
Meanwhile at Langthabal Public ground, YWC beat KCC, Kongba Bazar by 29 in a contest whose winners will climb on top of the Group table.

Spirited KCC, who had beaten PSC and MAF in the previous matches, managed to bowl out YWC for 178 at home but ended up gathering 149 for 9 in the chase.

Seram Robinson emerged the top scorer for the Langthabal team at their home ground with an unbeaten 73 off 120 balls while Maibam Subash (24), Ngangbam Bikramjit (18) and Ngangbam Bishwash (16) followed suit.

Ningombam Tony of KCC spun well to grab 3 for 19 runs in 5 overs of the innings as his compatriot Sinthoi Singh Nandeibam scalped twice for 27 runs in 7 overs.

Yumnam Sheiteendra, Loktongbam Ozzy and Kongbrailatpam Sanjit also earned a wicket each.

Hijam Boba shone with 42 runs off 66 balls for KCC in the chase while Loktongbam Ozzy added a significant 34 to take the chase to 149 for 9 after the top order fumbled.

The innings saw Maibam Subash of YWC claiming three including one on duck while Laishram Dinachandra picked up two wickets.

Leishangthem Bishorjit, Soubam Robinson and Ngangbam Binson also picked up a wicket apiece to restrict KCC to 149 .
