2nd H Biramangol Singh Memorial : RCA crush PTCC by 120 runs, finish Group A leaders

RCA, Lilong notched up a huge 120-run victory against PTCC, Patsoi Part III to finish Group A leaders in the 2nd MNCA U-23 Men Haobam Biramangol Memorial Trophy 2024-25 at Khudeiband Lampak today.
With the result, RCA who secured 10 points off 6 matches reached the quarterfinals alongside YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel, who finished runners up on the same 10 points.
After winning the toss, RCA opted to bat first but were bundled out for 239 runs in 39 overs.
They however successfully defended the total by bowling out PTCC for 119 runs in 30.5 overs.

RCA had a solid start to their innings courtesy of earlier sensible batting performances from openers Zuned 61 off 58 and Md Alfash 48 off 62 balls who also forged 116 runs for the first wicket.
Things went downhill after Zuned got run out off the bowling of Andy Mandingbam who also removed Md Alfash and Syed Hussain (19) to reduce RCA to 159/3 in 28 overs.
After Loukrakpam Anao further inflicted damage on RCA by removing Md Safwan on 21 and Ningombam Langamba sweeping the middle order batters, Naesh Hussain 18 and Iliyas 16 kept the scoreboard ticking before they fell flat at 239 .
Langamba returned with the best figures of 4/46 in 7 overs as Dominic 2/55 and Andy 2/44 returned with two wickets.
PTCC had a dismal chase and slumped to 119 all out in 30.5 overs despite Andy's 26 and Dominic's 27 as Iliyas (4/33) and Naesh hussain (4/29) of RCA wreaked havoc.
Iliyas of RCA was adjudged player of the match.
In another crucial Group A match, YUCC defeated AMCA, Thoubal by 7 wickets for the fifth win and to finish group runners up.
They bundled out toss winners AMCA for 81 runs riding on Ningthoujam Sanjit's five-for (5/7 in 5 overs) and Laishram Prithibiraj's three wicket haul (2/11 in 3 overs) and cruised to the target in 6 overs with 7 wickets wickets left to spare thanks to Ningthoujam Rohit 36 not out off 18 and Ningthoujam Sanjit 23 off 6 balls.
Khulakpam Fariyaz (2/48) and Hanif (1/16) were among the wickets for AMCA. Ningthoujam Sanjit was declared player of the match.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, KASC, Khomidok assured themselves of a place in the quarterfinals by beating KSDO, Kyamgei by 95 runs for the 5th win and went temporarily on top of the Group B table.
Bm Irfan toyed with the KSDO bowlers to blaze 150 off 73 balls and Md Sharif Khan scored 60 off 57 to guide KASC to 277/6 in 30 overs after they won the toss and opted to bat first.
Bm Irfan then led the KASC bowling charge to restrict KSDO to 182/8 and sealed the huge win.
Bm Irfan clobbered 9 fours and 13 sixes on the way to his quickfire 150 while Sharif found the fence 7 times (5 fours and 2 sixes) in an innings that saw Md Shah Jahan (4/22) of KSDO claiming four wickets and two others claiming a wicket apiece.
In reply, Md Shah Jahan scored 71 off 50 balls and Md Arif added 45 off 31 but their efforts went in vain as they ended up gathering 182 in the allotted 30 overs.
Bm Irfan (2/4), Md Ruhal (2/22) and Bm Afsar (2/36) shared 6 wickets for KASC as Md Rahis Khan and Md Sakif Hussain picked a wicket apiece to disrupt the KSDO chase.
Bm Irfan was eventually adjudged player of the match.
