CCpur, July 15 2017:
Despite the BJP led Government flaunting its achievements within months of coming to power, Henglep has silently endured the tropical diseases with the Government only waking up to the reality yesterday during the Cabinet meeting in Churachandpur .
"We have agreed to restore the 35 kms long Henglep road once the monsoon rains clear up," Government spokesman Th Biswajit told local reporters yesterday .
Works for the 0 to 22 kms have already started but the Cabinet had yesterday after hearing the plight of the interior areas agreed to take up the remaining stretch, he said .
The Minister who was there in the late 1990s said the road condition seems to be worse than his days in the sub-division .
At least three villages in Henglep have reported mass illness but a medical team deputed by the health authority managed to reach them only after walking on foot for over 20 kms.
The State health officials had yesterday during a press briefing admitted that they could not intervene at these villages due to the inhospitable road and terrain.
They even identified the area as among the least developed parts of the State.
