Baling plant for protection of environment by Red Shield Div

A Tetra Pak compacting plant was inaugurated today at Leimakhong Military station by Brigadier SKS Chauhan, Deputy General Officer Commanding, Red Shield Division .
According to a statement issued by the PIB, Defence, Imphal, the ceremony was attended by Army officials and Pravin Mallick, Environment Director, Tetra Pak South Asia Markets .
With setting up of this Baling machine plant, Red Shield Division has taken another step towards its efforts to promote conservation and environment protection and recycle the cartons, the plant can also be used to compress other subsequent recycling waste materials like plastic bottles, cardboard cartons, newspapers etc, with support from Tetra Pak India Pvt Ltd, said Deputy General Officer Commanding, Red Shield Division .
Milk in Tetra Pak cartons is supplied to troops as part of their entitled ration.
Pravin Mallick, Environment Director, Tetra Pak South Asia Markets said that Tetra Pak cartons are fully recyclable and can be recycled into various useful products like desks, benches, roof sheets and notebooks.
Tetra Pak Ltd has invested ahead of the curve to build a sustainable recycling eco-system for used cartons across the country.
The company has provided the compacting machine for this plant and will continue to provide technical expertise and support to the project.
