Free medical camp held

A one-day free medical camp for villagers of interior and remote villages of Khengjoy Sub-Division was held at Hengshi village of Chandel district on April 11 .
District Deputy Commissioner Robert Singh Kshetrimayum, who is also the Chairman of District Health Society (DHS), inaugurated the medical camp.
It was jointly organized by Centre for Women and Girls (CWG), Adventist Development & Relief Agency (ADRA) India and Thadou Students' Association (TSA) Chandel District in collaboration with District Health Society, Chandel under the sponsorship of European Commission Humanitarian Organisation (ECHO) .
Commanding Officer of 32 Assam Rifles Col R Naithani, Kuki Chiefs' Association (KCA) Khengjoy Sub-Division's secretary Ngamkhosei Suantak and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Chandel Dr Romi also graced as the presidium members at the inaugural function of the medical camp.
More than 300 villagers availed free medical treatment in general medicine, paediatrics and gynaecology during the camp.
Apart from distributing Arsenic Album 30 and other medicines free of cost to the villagers, an Anti Retroviral Screening and other laboratory tests were also conducted under the supervision of Dr Kesho S Moirangthem, District Aids Control Officer, Chandel during the medical camp.
