Imphal, February 26: Bringing up the matter to the notice of the people of Nongmaijing area Komrem villages, Thayong and its neighbouring villages, Mothers' Association Thayong (MAT), Senapati district has announced its complete ban on alcoholism and gambling activities in Thayong village with effect from today.

Violation of the ban would be dealt in accordance to the resolutions of the Association adopted during its general body meeting held at Thayong village on February 19, MAT secretary Mary Leivon informed in a statement.
