Thoubal, August 07 2017: As a preventive security measure in connection with the ensuing Independence Day celebration, Thoubal district police carried out a cordon and search operation today morning at Ukhongsang Mamang Leikai under Nongpok Sekmai PS in Thoubal district .

People in the age group of 15 years to 50 years, including women, were called out of from their respective houses for necessary verification, a reliable source said .

More than 100 persons including 27 women were verified by the police team.

No one was however detained during the operation .

The operation was carried out by a police team comprising women personnel under the supervision of K Meghachandra, SP/Thoubal and led by Soibam Sachinanda, Dy SP (Ops), Thoubal police.
