Rally protests Waqf Amendment Act

Kakching, April 07 2025: A public rally was held on Monday in Hangool area under Kakching district, to protest the Waqf (Amendment) Act 2025 recently passed by the Parliament.

The rally jointly organised by HASYACO, NYDA, HMYC and Jamiat Ulama, Hangool began from Hangool Mayai Lampak and concluded at Hangool Idgah ground after crossing the Hangool Bailey Bridge.

The rallyists including women and children used placards inscribed with slogans such as "We condemn the Waqf Amendment Bill", "Repeal Waqf Amendment Bill", "Save Masjid, Save Qabristans, Save Madaaris", "Protect Waqf Properties" and "We Reject Waqf Amendment Bill" .
