Imphal, September 04 2019: The State Government has declared every working Saturday as 'No school bag day' in the State effective immediately.

An office memorandum issued by the Commissioner Education (S), Manipur, mentioned that the 'No school bag day' will be enforced in all schools, including Government, Government aided and unaided and private schools for the students studying from Class I to VIII .

It explained that on all working Saturdays, the students will not carry any school bag and the schools will take life skill activities including extra co-curricular activities, games and sports, recreational activities etc to make the schools a more joyful place of learning.
