Soni Nongmaithem to witness Chandrayan - 2 landing with PM

Soni Nongmaithem of Nachou, Bishnupur, who was selected to witness the landing of Chandrayan - 2 on the moon along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi from inside the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Control Room on September 7, has conveyed that she is elated by the whole development and feels honoured.
Speaking to media persons at her residence today, Soni expressed excitement at being selected for the event through an on-line quiz which was conducted an all India basis upto the class X in connection with the Indian space programme and added that this achievement has motivated her to give her best in all future examinations.

Stating that she will also work hard for her Class X examination next year, Soni urged the students of the State to study hard and achieve the impossible.
Soni Nongmaithem is the second daughter of Nongmaithem Rakesh Singh and Nongmaithem (O) Elizabeth of Nachou Mamang Leikai, Bishnupur.
She is currently a Class X student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Loktak Project.
She is one of the 60 students to be selected through the all India quiz which was conducted by ISRO and Mygov.in from August 10 to 25 regarding the Chandrayan-2 mission.
She, along with the other 59 selected students from across the country, will get the chance to witness the moon landing of Chandrayan 2 along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at ISRO HQ at Bangalore on September 7.It may be mentioned that she is one of the two students who were selected from Manipur, with the other being Wahengbam Dayananda who is a class I student at JNV Yaralpat.
