AMGACTA protests, warns

Denouncing the failure of Manipur Government to fulfil their long standing demand of conversion of six Govt
aided colleges into full-fledged Government colleges, the mem-
bers of The All Manipur Government Aided College Teachers'
Association (AMGACTA) staged a sit-in-protest at the campus
of Biramangol College, Sawombung today.
AMGACTA also reminded its long standing demand to the
Government during a meeting held at the office chamber of
Education Minister on April 22, which was attended by Edu-
cation Minister, Principal Secretary, Deputy Secretary, OSD
(Planning) etc.
Meanwhile they have decided to launch a cease
work strike in all the six colleges from May 3.
The Govt aided colleges whose conversion into full-
fledged Govt colleges has been sought are Thambal Marik
College, Oinam; Liberal College, Luwangsangbam; Kakching
Khunou College, Kakching Khunou; Standard College,
Kongba; Biramangol College, Sawombung and Mayai Lambi
College, Yumnam Huidrom, said a press release issued by the
secretary of AMGACTA.
