Setting February 29 as the deadline to all concerned for coming out with an explanation over the killing of Heken Singh, the JAC formed in protest against the killing and the family members have warned of launching various intense agitation if the demand is not met.
Addressing a press conference in this connection at Manipur Press Club here today, joint secretary of the JAC Joykumar demanded explanation from all concerned within February 29 over the brutal killing of Heken who was a simple and innocent person.
In case any proscribed armed group is behind the killing, then they should furnish the reason to the bereaved family as well as to the public, he asserted.
In case an organised gang is behind the act of killing, then, he appealed to all concerned fighting for the cause of justice to help in finding out the killers.It may be recalled here that Th Heken s/o Th Ibopishak of Heinoukhongnembi was found dead in the evening of February 15 at Irengband one day after he had been picked up by some unidentified persons while walking on the road.
Brother of Heken, Th Tomba, who was also present at the press conference, complained against the failure of the State Police to take up any action in connection with the brutal killing of his brother.
He said that his brother was killed after subjecting to severe torture.
