Water supply scheme handed over

Imphal, February 24 2018:
A water supply scheme was handed over to the villagers of Suangkuang village by Khuga Battalion today, said a press release issued by PIB Defence Wing.
Suangkuang village is one of the remotest village of Churachandpur district and was without permanent source of water.
The villagers were dependent of a seasonal nala which was four kilometers away from the village.
It informed that the water supply scheme handed over was made under Border Area Development Project (BADP) .
The villagers had to walk for long distances on daily basis for their water needs.
The water supply scheme will also improve hygiene and sanitation in village beside providing them more time to look after their agriculture and educational needs.
The gesture of the Battalion was appreciated by the villagers, the release added.
