Imphal, February 18: A high level meeting on the prevailing law and order situation was held today with Chief Minister O Ibobi in the chair.

Among others, the review meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh, Principal Secretary (Home) PBO Warjiri, DGP Y Joykumar, IG (L/O-I) S Dinokumar and Superintendents of Police of the valley districts.

According to a high ranking police official, even though the meeting was normal in nature, the Chief Minister issued stringent instructions to curb extortion by UG groups and to improvise the law and order situation, The police officers, on their part, put up the problem of fuel shortage and lack of sphere tyres in their counter insurgency operations.
